- Goncha & the Crackle of Tupki — Stand amid the only Rath Yatra where bamboo guns are fired in devotion, as the streets of Jagdalpur fill with the sound of malkangni rounds saluting Lord Jagannath.
- Chitrakote — India's Own Niagara — Stand atop a 90-foot horseshoe cascade, then descend to its base, where the spray reaches you long before the full force of the falls comes into view.
- Tupki, Shaped by Hand — Watch Bastar's artisans craft the ceremonial bamboo guns of Goncha, a skill passed down through generations and made nowhere else on earth.
- Danteshwari Temple — A Shakti Peeth — Step into the centuries-old seat of Goddess Danteshwari at Dantewada, the spiritual heart from which Bastar's legendary Dussehra draws its power.
- The Weekly Haat Gathering — Visit a tribal market where organic produce and handicrafts change hands, but more than commerce, it is the week's great social occasion — where villages meet, talk and celebrate together.
Itineraries
Day 1
Date : July 16, 2026
Waterfalls & the Opening of Goncha

Chitrakote greets you first — India's own Niagara — where you stand atop a 90-foot cascade before descending to meet its thunder up close. Chase the wilder, lesser-seen Tamda Ghumar and Mendri Ghumar deeper in the forest. By afternoon, Jagdalpur turns sacred: walk into the Goncha Festival at Sirasar Square, trace dynastic history through Bastar Palace, and watch the Tupki play unfold. As dusk falls, witness Netrotsav — the "opening of the eyes" of the deities — a hush so profound you feel the whole town hold its breath.

Day 2
Date : July 17, 2026
Caves, Cascades & the Craft of Tupki

Slip into the cool dark of Madarkonta Caves, where stalactites and stalagmites have formed in silence for thousands of years. Emerge to the three-tiered Tirathgarh Waterfalls — its mist on your skin before its roar reaches your ears. Close the day inside the Goncha celebrations, watching artisans carve and shape Tupki by hand — the ceremonial bamboo guns fired in honour of Lord Jagannath. You leave with the day's two rhythms in you: the stillness of stone and the pulse of living tradition.

Day 3
Date : July 18, 2026
Shakti Peeth, Ancient Temples & the Weekly Haat

Dantewada calls first — its Danteshwari Temple, one of India's revered Shakti Peeths, home to the goddess from whom Bastar's Dussehra draws its soul. Move on to the restored temples of Barsur, each stone carrying centuries of myth and history. Pause at Saathdhara and the memory pillars, where departed villagers' lives are carved into stone. Then wander a tribal haat — less a marketplace than a weekly reunion, where families trade terracotta and handicrafts, and gather simply to be together. The day closes on the rim of Chitrakote at golden hour.

Day 4
Date : July 19, 2026
Ancient Stone & Sacred Groves
Dawn leads you to the thousand-year-old Narayanpal Temple, raised by the Nagvanshi dynasty for Lord Vishnu — its weathered architecture and quiet surrounds a lesser-known marvel you may have almost to yourself. From here, step into a Devgudi — a tribal shrine where Animism lives on, and the divine is found in earth, tree and stone. A final stop at Jagdalpur's tourist centre lets you carry a piece of Bastar home: handmade crafts shaped by the very communities you have travelled among.
Then, departure — though something of Bastar tends to leave with you, and stay.
