This Ganesh Yatra carries you to two of Bastar's great Ganesha landmarks — the centuries-old twin Ganesha temple of Barsoor, holding one of the world's largest single-sandstone idols of the deity, and the Dholkal hilltop, where the journey closes with a Ganesh Chaturthi trek through deep forest. Between them, the Indravati thunders over Chitrakote, mist rises off the 300-foot Tirathgarh falls, and headtorches catch the ancient stalactites of Mandarkonta caves. You will share tribal meals served on leaf, trek to the monsoon waterfalls of Bijakasha, and walk Jagdalpur's palace lanes with a local guide who calls this land home. Every kilometre is run by Bastar's own people — the guides, cooks, and hosts whose livelihoods this journey supports. Come and walk the Ganesha trail through the tribal heartland, the way Bastar has honoured it for generations.
- Ganesh Chaturthi atop Dholkal — A seven-kilometre forest trek that ends on a windswept hilltop, where the tour marks Ganesh Chaturthi with sweeping views over the Bastar ranges.
- The Twin Ganesha of Barsoor — At the archaeological town of Barsoor stands a temple holding one of the world's largest single-sandstone idols of Lord Ganesha, raised over 800 years ago.
- Chitrakote and the Indravati — Hike down from the rim to the lower bank of Chitrakote, close enough to feel the spray as the Indravati crashes across its full monsoon breadth.
- Caving at Mandarkonta — Headtorch on, step into Kanger Valley's Mandarkonta caves to stand among stalactites and stalagmites shaped over a million years.
- A Tribal Meal, the Bastar Way — Share a customised tribal vegetarian thali prepared and served by the communities who host this journey — simple, seasonal, and rooted in the forest around you.
Itineraries
Day 1
Date : September 11, 2026
Tirathgarh Falls, Mandarkonta Caves & the Jagdalpur Heritage Walk

The road from Jagdalpur climbs into Kanger Valley National Park, where the Tirathgarh falls drop close to 300 feet in white tiers you hear before you see. Inside Mandarkonta's caves, your headtorch picks out stalactites and stalagmites that have taken a million years to form in the dark. Back in town, the Jagdalpur Heritage Walk leads you around Sirasar square, the Bastar palace, and the old man-made lakes, each carrying a dynasty's story. You will end the day with the falls still roaring somewhere behind your eyes.

Day 2
Date : September 12, 2026
Chitrakote, River Trails & the Waterfalls of Bastar

Today belongs to falling water. A short hike off the Chitrakote rim takes you down to the lower bank, close enough to feel the Indravati's spray. The River Trail threads through dense forest to Mendri Ghumar's monsoon cascades and the quiet plunge of Tamda Ghumar, while the Ratenga trail crosses small streams to its own seasonal falls. At Narayanpal, you stand before a thousand-year-old temple raised by the Nagvanshi dynasty. The day ends at Bijakasha, where you trek in for a natural shower and a foot bath in cold hill water.

Day 3
Date : September 13, 2026
Dantewada, Danteshwari Temple & the Twin Ganesha of Barsoor

A scenic valley road carries you to Dantewada and the story that binds its Danteshwari temple to its sister shrine back in Jagdalpur. At Gamawada, ancient megaliths and memory pillars stand in the open as records of lives long past. Then comes Barsoor, an archaeological treasure — the Battisha and Mama Bhanja temples, and the twin Ganesha temple holding one of the world's largest single-sandstone idols of Lord Ganesha, raised over 800 years ago. The day softens at Saathdhara falls, gateway to the Abhujmadh region, and closes on the river sand of Muchnar beach at dusk.

Day 4
Date : September 14, 2026
Dholkal Trek & the Ganesh Yatra Finale

The Ganesh Yatra ends on its feet. A seven-kilometre trek climbs through Dholkal's green slopes in the cool of the morning, the forest opening now and then to wide views of the ranges below. On the hilltop, the tour marks Ganesh Chaturthi before you turn back down the trail. By afternoon you are on the road to Jagdalpur for departure, the climb still warm in your legs and the quiet of the hill staying with you.
