Itineraries

Day 1

Date : August 14, 2026

Kanger Valley, Tirathgarh & Jagdalpur Heritage

Your Chhattisgarh Freedom Trek begins inside Kanger Valley National Park, where Tirathgarh Waterfalls drop nearly 300 feet through the forest. Duck into Mandarkonta caves next, threading past stalactites and stalagmites that locals date back a million years. Watch Bastar artisans at their handicraft work before an expert-led Heritage Walk through Jagdalpur town. Lunch is proper Bastar fare, capped with a taste of the region's famous red ant chutney — tangy, unusual, and entirely local.

Day 2

Date : August 15, 2026

Dholkal Trek, Barsoor Temples & Danteshwari Shakti Peeth

Independence Day starts on the trail — a seven-kilometre climb through Dholkal's forested slopes in the cool morning air. Down at Barsoor, a guided Heritage Walk unlocks the Battisha and Mama Bhanja temples, centuries-old shrines recently restored. En route to Dantewada, stop at a local market before standing before the Danteshwari Shakti Peeth, seat of Bastar's Dussehra tradition. The day closes at the Twin Ganesha Temple — home to an 800-year-old sandstone Ganesha, among the largest single-stone carvings of its kind.

Day 3

Date : August 16, 2026

Chitrakote Waterfalls & Narayanpal Temple

Your last day trades the forest trail for waterfall country. Start at Chitrakote, where a footbath on the lower riverbank cools you before the day's driving heat sets in. The thousand-year-old Narayanpal Temple, built by the Nagvanshi dynasty for Lord Vishnu, follows — its carved stonework still holding its original detail. At Devgudi, see how Bastar's tribal communities practise animism at their sacred groves. Round off the trek at Tamda Ghumar and Mendri Ghumar waterfalls, sharing a tribal meal as the evening sky turns colour.
